On this page you will find the prototype database of songs from Stage 1 of the AASR - the songs being taught by teachers in studios in Australia, as gleaned from Survey No. 1 (2022) and No. 2 (2024). Studios are not static and a song that suits one student may not suit another, and as students move on, so songs will come and go in their usage. The research now covers songs that have previously been taught by survey respondents, as well as those which are currently being taught. The survey data has provided more than 70 songs to date.
N.B. The database is still in development. Linked songs are from Survey No. 1. The unlinked songs have primarily come from Survey No. 2. Data on these will be updated and song links added when we have completed this stage of the research. Basic song information and sources are included where known but grading is still ongoing. This information will be added as our research continues.
